The Session Hat
Originally worn by Irish farmers and fishermen as protection against the rain, the bucket hat has a long history. Our design kept the downward-slanting brim (flip up or down) and a small footprint (throw it in your pocket or bag easily) while squaring off the top and adding a pop of color.

FABRIC
Sewn in 100% sustainable cotton. The raw materials are upcycled and woven by a family owned and operated mill, based out of Guatemala. Their circular manufacturing process is chemical-free, dye-free and uses minimal water and energy.
DYE
Working in small batches, our fabric is dyed using fiber reactive dyes. A process that is considered more permanent than most any other type. The color bonds with the cotton fiber and becomes a physical part of the molecule, creating an incredibly strong wash and light fastness! Note: We strive for color consistency but slight variations should be expected.
PRODUCTION
  • Designed and sewn in CA
  • 8 oz. cotton
  • Corozo buttons (nut based)
  • White contrast stitching
  • Pre-washed and shrunk

*Take note: We have a small inventory that is ready to ship. Once those have been claimed, this item will be made-to-order and take 2-3 weeks to ship.

**Take note: There will be a box for you to enter your size at check-out. You can find the size guide here in this listing >>

Why? For fabric that we have a very limited amount of, we're not sewing an inventory ahead of time. We want to guarantee those of you who get here first, have access to the size you'd like. In order to do that, we measure exactly how many yards we have and how many pieces we can make with it :)

That being said, these will be sewn upon order so please expect around 2-4 weeks for it to ship. Thank you!
COMING SOON

PRODUCTION
Our Session Hats are made right here in our San Diego studio. We are currently a two person sewing team that cranks these out with love and care.
SIZING
To get your circumference, wrap a measuring tape around the widest part of your head. If you don't have a measuring tape, a piece of string or floss and a ruler works too. Please note that this deadstock does not have much stretch, so size up if you're in between sizes. A bit of wiggle room is never a bad idea.
If you have any questions about measurements or fit, feel free to email emma@pairupetc.com
We recommend this vegan kapok insert, that’s been tested to fit our cases very well. It's also one of the most environmentally friendly insert options out there.
